Friends of Cossington School

Charity Number: 1096407

We are a charitable organisation, made up of parents, teachers and friends of the school, who organise events to raise money to assist in the all-important education of the children at our school.

Our events are provided for the children, their families and friends and the surrounding community. We hold many events in the school grounds, which enables new and old pupils to visit the school and it also gives parents an opportunity to see work that has been created by the pupils. We also hold evening events for adults, where they can enjoy socialising with their friends.

We publish a copy of our meeting minutes on the school noticeboard, which informs parents and visitors of items which we have supported, money which has been raised at events and dates of future events.

We would welcome any assistance with organising events, so please contact any committee member if you would like to help.

We have organised the following events for 2008:

Bag 2 School - Monday 9 June 2008.
This is an excellent excuse for clearing out your unwanted items of clothes, shoes, bedding, curtains, soft toys, belts and handbags and your children benefit from the money that it raises.

Progressive Barbecue - Saturday 14 June 2008.
The success of last year's Progressive Barbecue led us to believe that this years could be bigger and better so get on your party shoes (or wellies might be more appropriate) to mingle and dance the night away. Further details will be posted on the noticeboard nearer the time.

Summer Fayre - Friday 11 July 2008 (proposed date)
We are hoping to finish the school year with an outdoor Summer Fayre.

FOCS Christmas Party and Father Christmas

All the children at Cossington School went to the Village Hall for their Christmas lunch. Staff, children and Governors were treated to a Christmas lunch by Friends of Cossington School. During the afternoon there was a very special visitor, who turned by unannounced to deliver some presents!
